We listen, provide transparent information and include different perspectives in our decisions. For example, we work closely with our customers to develop decarbonized energy solutions, while we work with policymakers to improve the framework conditions for a secure and responsible energy supply. Our investors receive regular insights into our ESG strategy and we are in constant dialog with local communities in order to take their concerns into account and create prospects for the future together.
This gives us the opportunity to understand the needs, concerns and expectations of our company and our business activities. Conversely, the exchange allows us to share our perspective on a world of responsible energy supply. This open dialogue promotes mutual understanding and trust and also helps us to identify and reduce the potential adverse effects of our business activities.
We help our customers decarbonize
We are continuously decarbonizing our business. And we are helping our customers to do the same for their business by developing tailored solutions to reduce their emissions and transform their processes.
Reliable company
Our society is faced with numerous challenges that can only be overcome through joint action. Our role is primarily to support the European energy transition by ensuring a secure, affordable and reliable supply of electricity, gas and heat. This also includes gradually decarbonizing this energy. We also want to play our part in ensuring that this transition is fair. In addition, we support the communities in which our plants and power stations are located by carrying out projects to promote culture, environmental protection and sport.
Attractive employer
The well-being of our employees is our top priority. That is why we work every day to maintain high occupational health and safety standards. We also want to offer our employees a working environment in which they feel safe and comfortable by promoting and encouraging them to share ideas and try out new things.
Suppliers
Our efforts to promote sustainability also extend to our suppliers. Environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects therefore also play a role in our procurement. They are a key aspect of supplier onboarding and ongoing risk monitoring. We select suppliers that fit our procurement strategy and our business requirements and meet our sustainability criteria.

Shareholders
We are in constant dialogue with capital market participants, including our current and potential shareholders. Our main objective is to ensure transparency by providing investors with relevant financial and non-financial information. We also actively seek feedback from the capital markets on our strategy, business activities and reporting and take it into account in our decision-making. Investors and investor initiatives regularly approach us with requests for detailed information about our decarbonization strategy. We prioritize these requests, respond to them as best we can and strive for a transparent dialogue. By talking to our investors about their views and learning to understand them better, we can also improve as a company.
Associations and initiatives
Joint positive action requires relationships based on trust. We work together with important associations and initiatives that are directly or indirectly involved in our key sustainability issues. We are convinced that this will be the most effective way to tackle future challenges and ultimately reduce the negative impact of our business activities.

The political discussion
Europe wants to become the first climate-neutral continent. This requires a fundamental transformation of the energy system. This in turn requires a political and legal environment that enables companies like us to invest in new decarbonization technologies, drive innovation and develop new business models. Only in this way can the transition to a sustainable, secure and affordable energy supply succeed. We are committed to creating the right framework conditions together with politics, business and society.
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
Sharing ideas with NGOs, including controversial topics, broadens our perspective. One forum for this exchange is our round table on sustainability. It brings us together with NGOs to engage in constructive dialog on topics such as climate protection, biodiversity, human rights and social justice. It is not just about exchanging points of view, but also about developing solutions together and promoting mutual understanding. The round table creates space for openness, transparency and critical feedback. This is an important basis for the continuous development of our sustainability strategy.
