Our business activities include electricity generation in Europe, global energy trading and a broad gas portfolio. As “ The beating heart of Energy" in Europe, we are driving the energy transition forward at full speed. Security of supply and affordability are only sustainable if we combine them with climate protection. Oliver Roeder Vice President Financial & Sustainability Communication at Uniper

For us, the Uniper Düsseldorf Marathon is much more than just a running event - it is a symbol of cohesion, team spirit and social commitment. As a global company with firm roots in Düsseldorf, we have once again expressed our solidarity with the city of Düsseldorf as the title sponsor of the Uniper Düsseldorf Marathon. And our commitment does not end with the sponsorship of the marathon. Together with D.Sports, we founded the Uniper D.Running Team at the beginning of 2025. In addition to engaging top runners and promoting young talent, together we want to create a program for children and young people to counteract the increasing lack of exercise.

Absolutely positive one! It was great to see that we got over 16,000 people to take part in one of the runs this year. Even the sky was Uniper blue that day! It was also great to see so many colleagues supporting the event with their voluntary work at the refreshment points. And the fact that Esther Pfeifer from our Uniper D.Running team won the half marathon shows that we are on the right track. We will have a lot more fun with the team.

Over 200 running enthusiasts from Uniper took part in one of the three competitions. Not only were they given a Uniper running shirt, they also had the opportunity to learn the necessary “basics”. Between December and April, they were able to take part in several lectures and discussion groups and keep up to date with the latest information on training, nutrition and injury prevention. We cooperate with the sports science institute ProAthletes for this purpose. After the run, all Uniper participants had the opportunity to enjoy refreshments and snacks in our tent in the finish area and talk about the event.
