About the project

About the project

Uniper is developing Hare Craig wind farm in East Ayrshire, Scotland.

The wind farm could see more than 66,000 UK homes per year powered using low carbon renewable electricity, helping to meet the UK’s net zero targets. Once operational, it will have seven turbines and  generation capacity of 46.2 Megawatts. Construction of the project is expected to start in 2027 with power generation due to start in 2028.

The project was granted initial planning consent by the local planning authority (East Ayrshire Council) in 2022, with a modified application in 2024, following the submission of plans by Energiekontor UK Ltd .

The balance of plant contractor for the scheme is AE Yates Ltd, and construction management services are provided by Energiekontor UK Construction Ltd. The wind turbines will be supplied by Nordex.
