Our targets

We have set ourselves the goal of achieving a Group-wide share of 25% women at the first (L1) and second (L2) management levels below the Management Board by December 31, 2025.

In the long term, we are aiming for a 30% share of women across the first three management levels (L1-L3) in the Uniper Group by the end of 2030.

Preventing serious accidents

Our goal is to prevent serious accidents involving our employees and partner companies and not to allow any fatal or life-changing injuries.

Many of our employees work in technical areas of our power plants. These jobs require a high level of occupational health and safety. We attach great importance to ensuring that they are always safe and healthy in their demanding work and are constantly working to improve work processes and framework conditions, to prevent serious accidents. Our commitment to health and occupational safety also applies to the employees of our business partners as well as to residents and visitors to our facilities.

Healthy and satisfied employees are crucial to the success of our company. That is why we provide them with a wide range of offers and preventative measures to promote their health as part of our occupational health management. We have appointed health managers and support corresponding initiatives at global, national and local level. Medical check-ups and vaccinations are a matter of course for us, as are clear overtime regulations and healthy food in the canteen.

For us, health not only means physical fitness and integrity, but also mental and social well-being. That is why, in addition to physical exercise programs, we also offer mental health programs, both in the form of classroom courses and webinars. Our health management also offers specially trained internal contact persons for mental health and addiction prevention.

Our approach

  • Ensuring a safe, healthy and secure working environment for all employees and contractors and the same standards for joint ventures and partnerships.
  • Comprehensive health and wellbeing programs and strict health and safety policies and campaigns for employees and non-employee

To increase the satisfaction and motivation of our employees, we offer them various concepts to promote their work-life balance. Whether part-time options, job sharing, individual working time arrangements, home office or even mobile working from home or abroad - many things are possible with us. In our offices, we have created attractive meeting places for collaboration and networking. At home, we provide equipment for a modern and healthy workplace.

We want to support our employees individually! After all, they are the ones who form the basis of our projects with their wealth of ideas and drive. To qualify them for responsible tasks with long-term development prospects, we offer them personal and professional training and further education. This is important to attract and retain diverse talent in a highly competitive job market.

Our approach

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

An inclusive and barrier-free environment in which everyone feels valued, respected, included and psychologically safe is of great importance to us. We value an open and respectful culture and do not tolerate discrimination. Diversity, equity  and inclusion increase our competitiveness, resilience, creativity, innovative strength and corporate value. Internalizing these principles, seeing them as an opportunity and combating discrimination are core components of our corporate culture.

To increase the proportion of women in management positions, Uniper has already introduced a variety of measures to recruit women at both employee and management level and to support their further development. The goal of increasing the proportion of women in management positions is a key aspect of gender equality and part of our DEI strategy.

Our approach

  • Actively promote gender equality and support women within the company through mentoring, job sharing models, succession planning and talent development measures as well as recruitment and employer branding initiatives
  • Zero tolerance of discrimination and standardized complaints procedure in the event of discrimination
  • Offer preventative e-learning courses to raise awareness and protect employees throughout the company
  • Systematic promotion of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) to create the best possible working environment for all employees and to ensure equal opportunities and more balanced representation
