As a Graduate in the Trainee Program, you have the opportunity to get to know different divisions and to gain valuable experience. The 18- / 24-month program based in Germany, with a combination of pre-defined and flexible stations, also gives you the opportunity to gain international experience and work in various business units. The program offers an in-depth insight into our business and enables you to explore and develop your competencies. You will have the chance to bring-in and enhance your social and collaborative skills. You will get personal mentoring and a buddy from day one to ensure you have the best possible foundation for the next step in your career at Uniper.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for you if you have completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree and ideally have gained some practical experience in the form of relevant internships or working student activities.
You should have a high degree of curiosity and openness for working in an intercultural environment. We are a very international company with locations in over 40 countries and employees from many different countries. Our working language is English, but in some areas knowledge of German is also an advantage.
We have a strong portfolio of assets, locations and competencies in the energy sector and we aim to accelerate energy transition in a flexible, balanced and bespoke way. If this sounds exciting and challenging to you, Uniper is the right place for you.

Application process and locations

Application process

1. The first step is your online application via our career page. Here you can upload all relevant information about yourself: CV, cover letter, certificates and references.

2. After reviewing your application documents, an initial selection of suitable applicants is made, who are invited to take an online test.

3. In a next step, the shortlisted candidates will be invited to a virtual meeting with the HR department, where the trainee programme is presented and your initial questions are answered. 

4. After a successful check, our selected candidates will receive an invitation to an application day on site.

The next application days will take place between 28 July and 15 August 2025

5. Successful candidates will then receive a contract offer.

6.  You start your Traineeship with an individual onboarding program during which we introduce you to Uniper and provide you with all the information you need for an optimal start.

At which locations are we looking for trainees?

Our trainee positions are mainly advertised for the headquarter location in Düsseldorf. With our FlexWork concept, we give you the freedom to work from the office or from home in consultation with your respective manager. You also have the opportunity to strengthen your intercultural skills as part of an international placement at one of our foreign locations, for example in England, the USA, Sweden or the Netherlands.
