Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person such as your name, your e-mail address or your postal address. Unless you have agreed otherwise with Uniper, Uniper only collects personal data that is necessary for our business relationship, such as your name, job title, address, telephone number, e-mail address and other contact details. In this case, data is only collected if you make it available to Uniper, e.g. if you order information material and use a contact form for this purpose or request this via e-mail, subscribe to an e-mail information service, apply for a job online via our applicant portal or participate in a survey or competition. Uniper only collects this data directly from you and not from other third parties. In this respect, the legal basis for the processing arises from Article 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. b) GDPR.

Uniper will use your personal data to respond to your inquiry, process your order or provide you access to special information or offers you have requested from us. For example, if you fill out an online contact form, Uniper will use this information to contact you regarding your interest in the Services. In this respect, the legal basis for the processing arises from Article 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. b) GDPR.
Uniper may also use personal data of its customers and data of participants for marketing purposes, if necessary, insofar as they have expressly consented to this in accordance with Article 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. a) GDPR. In this case, Uniper will use the information you provide to contact you to discuss your interest in the Services and to send you information about the company, its subsidiaries and affiliates, such as promotions or events. For this purpose, it may also be necessary for Uniper to pass on your data to group companies or external service providers within the scope of commissioned data processing. For example, Uniper may need to share customer information for customer relationship management purposes.
If you have agreed to the processing of your personal data, you can revoke this agreement at any time with effect for the future. Revocation of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent.
Uniper will not sell or otherwise market your personal data to third parties or pass it on for their advertising purposes. Insofar as you have expressly consented to this in accordance with Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. a) GDPR, Uniper shall pass on your data to its subsidiaries and partner companies so that they can contact you directly.

Uniper will only store your personal data for as long as it is necessary to provide the services or information you have requested and for the duration of our business relationship. In addition, we only store your data to the extent necessary to comply with statutory retention obligations or for the duration of legal disputes in order to protect our legitimate interests. We will delete your data immediately if they are no longer needed for the purposes mentioned.

When you access the Uniper website, general information is collected automatically (i.e. not through registration). The following data is saved automatically:

• the abbreviated and thus anonymized IP address. The reduction rules out any possibility of reference to a person.
• the website you last visited (referrer).
• the web pages you have visited in the Uniper offer.
• the names of the retrieved files.
• the date and time of the retrieval.
• the operating system and browser version of your PC.

Piwik Pro

We use the Piwik Pro cookie banner and analytics service from the Piwik PRO Group (“Piwik”) on our website. Piwik PRO is stored locally on our website's servers. The data will not be passed on to third parties.

a.Cookie-Banner

When you visit our website for the first time (or after you have deleted the cookies on your device), you will be shown our cookie banner. We use this banner to collect your consent for the processing that require consent as a legal basis (statistical and/or marketing purposes).

b. Analytics

We also use the analysis service of Piwik PRO. In doing so, statistical cookies are set, which we can use to analyze your user behaviour with our website.

In more detail, with Piwik PRO we evaluate information about your visits to our website (e.g. sequence of subpages accessed, time spent on subpages) for analysis purposes in order to understand how visitors use our website. The collected information includes a masked IP address of the user, operating system, browser ID, website usage and other information. With this information, we can improve our website and adapt it to your needs.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 Para. 1 a) GDPR) if you have accepted all cookies or the statistical cookies in the cookie banner. The transmission of this data is voluntary. It is also not required for the conclusion of a contract.

The data compiled by Piwik PRO is stored by us in Microsoft Azure: Germany for a maximum of 25 months.

Your consent to the use of the analysis service can be revoked at any time with effect for the future via the cookie banner by rejecting the use of statistical cookies (“Show settings, select statistics slider”) or all cookies (“Reject all”). If you use several end devices or browsers, you must revoke this consent for each individual end device in each individual browser.

Google Ads Conversion Tracking

Furthermore, we have integrated Google Ads conversion tracking on our website. Google Ads is an Internet advertising service that allows advertisers to place ads in Google's search engine results as well as in the Google advertising network. Google Ads allows an advertiser to specify certain keywords in advance, by means of which an ad is displayed in Google's search engine results exclusively when the user retrieves a keyword-relevant search result using the search engine. In the Google advertising network, the ads are distributed on topic-relevant websites by means of an automatic algorithm and in compliance with the previously defined keywords.

The operating company of the Google Ads services is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, USA.

The purpose of Google Ads is to advertise our website by displaying interest-relevant advertising on the websites of third-party companies and in the search engine results of the Google search engine.

If you reach our website via a Google ad, a so-called conversion cookie is stored on your IT system by Google. A conversion cookie loses its validity after thirty days and is not used to identify you. If the cookie has not yet expired, the conversion cookie is used to track whether certain subpages, such as the shopping cart, have been called up on our website. Through the conversion cookie, both we and Google can track whether a user who arrived on our website via an Ads ad generated a sale, i.e. completed or cancelled a purchase of goods.

Neither our company nor other advertisers of Google Ads receive information from Google by means of which you could be identified.

You can prevent the setting of cookies by our website at any time by refusing your consent or by your revocation or by means of an appropriate setting of the Internet browser used and thus permanently object to the setting of cookies. Such a setting of the Internet browser used would also prevent Google from setting a conversion cookie on your IT system. In addition, a cookie already set by Google Ads can be deleted at any time via the internet browser or other software programs.

Furthermore, you have the option to object to interest-based advertising by Google. To do this, you must call up the link www.google.de/settings/ads from the Internet browser you are using and make the desired settings there.

Such an evaluation is carried out in particular in accordance with your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit.a DS-GVO. You can revoke your consent at any time.

Note on the processing of your collected data by companies in or from the USA:

With your consent, you simultaneously give your consent pursuant to Art. 49 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a DSGVO for your data to be processed by companies in or from the USA. The European Court of Justice considers the USA to be a country with an insufficient level of data protection according to EU standards. There may be a risk that U.S. authorities may have access to your data under U.S. laws and that you may not be able to rely on the protection of European laws.

Uniper takes precautions to protect your personal data from loss, destruction, falsification, manipulation and unauthorized access. The legal data protection regulations of the Federal Republic of Germany are naturally observed.

Cloudflare

We use the Content Delivery Network (CDN) of Cloudflare Germany GmbH, Rosental 7, c/o Mindspace, 80331 Munich Germany (Cloudflare) to increase the security and delivery speed of our website. This corresponds to our legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO). A CDN is a network of [globally] distributed servers that is able to deliver optimized content to the website user. For this purpose, personal data may be processed in server log files by Cloudflare. Please compare the explanations under "Hosting".

Cloudflare is a recipient of your personal data and acts as a processor for us. This corresponds to our legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) p. 1 lit. f DSGVO not to operate a content delivery network ourselves.

You have the right to object to the processing. Whether the objection is successful is to be determined as part of a balancing of interests.

The processing of the data provided under this section is not required by law or contract. The functionality of the website is not guaranteed without the processing.

Your personal data will be stored by Cloudflare for as long as necessary for the purposes described.

Cloudflare has implemented compliance measures for international data transfers. These apply to all global activities where Cloudflare processes personal data of individuals in the EU. These measures are based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

On the website uniper.energy we integrate the content of our official channels on YouTube at various points. For the companies that operate these social networks (YouTube LLC), it is thus possible to determine which content you have visited on uniper.energy. In particular, if you are also logged in to one of the listed sites with your personal profile, the social network operators may assign the information to your account.

In order to prevent the operators of the above-mentioned social networks from collecting the above-mentioned data through your visit to our website, please log out of the respective social network before visiting our site and delete any cookies that may be present.
