About the project
Uniper has developed plans for a solar farm in Totmonslow, Staffordshire - one of the first renewable projects it has developed in the UK.
The scheme demonstrates our commitment to the UK renewable energy market and meeting Uniper’s ambitious target to accelerate the energy transition by making our business carbon neutral by 2040.
The Totmonslow solar farm in Draycott in the Moors has a generation capacity of up to 21.33 MWp – enough to supply around 7,400 households with electricity.
The scheme gained planning consent in 2023.
Construction is due to start on the solar farm soon, with power to be fed into the national grid in 2026.
The Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor for the scheme is Sustainable Bright.
Investments in these solar projects are part of Uniper’s commitment to invest approximately €8 billion into growth and transformation projects by the early 2030s. Uniper aims to be carbon neutral by 2040,
In the UK, Uniper is exploring opportunities to potentially develop renewable projects in and around its existing power stations with a focus on the development of solar and onshore wind projects, which for some projects could also include the installation of battery storage facilities.
