We are committed to contributing to the gradual adoption of clean energy. That’s why Uniper offers a range of innovative energy products and services to our partners and customers. This includes the supply of steam to industrial facilities located near our power plants. Other examples include the use of sustainability-certified biomass and industrial by-products, such as biopropane, for generating power and heat.
Green hydrogen and alternative fuels
For our city plants, this means we will continue producing energy while increasingly using alternative sources. Green gas and (in the future) sustainable hydrogen are promising options. Aquathermy, which involves harnessing energy from surface water, is another solution Uniper considers reliable for sustainable energy supply.
Additionally, we collaborate with partners to integrate geothermal energy and residual heat into local heating networks. Geothermal energy is heat from deep underground, while residual heat refers to heat leftover from electricity production and/or industrial processes.
Energy storage and smart grids
Uniper provides solutions for energy storage and smart grids. These technologies help balance supply and demand on the electricity grid, improve efficiency, and support the integration of renewable energy sources.
Product-as-a-Service model
We offer energy installations through a product-as-a-service model. This means we take full responsibility for the investment, design, construction, operation, and maintenance, allowing you to focus on your core activities. Meanwhile, you benefit from lower energy costs and increased energy efficiency.
